//CCB DIRECTOR, 2 OTHERS PROPOSED AS ONNOGHEN’S DEFENCE WITNESSES
A Director at the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), Mrs Theresa Nwafor and two others have been proposed as defence witnesses in the trial of the suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Walter Onnoghen.

Onnoghen who is facing charges of false and non-declaration of assets before the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) in Abuja was on Friday asked to open his defence.

At the resumption of hearing on Monday, lead defence counsel, Chief Adegboyega Awomolo (SAN), said ‘’two of three” witnesses would be presented before the court.

Without objection by the prosecuting counsel Mr. Aliyu Umar (SAN), Awomolo thereafter applied for an order that a subpoena be issued and served on Nwafor summoning her to appear before the tribunal to testify in the case.

To request was promptly granted by the Justice Umar Danladi-led CCT and the witness was asked to appear before the tribunal at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
